ABOUT ROOM FOR FILM
Hello!
We want to tell compelling stories and engage you in a world you may not have known before. In order to do so, we want to create room. Room to think. Room to reflect. And room to make films.
Welcome in our Room for Film.
Loes Komen and Eva Verweij founded their production company Room for Film in 2017, shortly after graduating from the Netherlands Filmacademy. Their films have been selected for multiple international filmfestivals and won several awards. Marlon Brando (written and directed by Vincent Tilanus) is selected for Cannes Semaine de la Critique 2020, TIFF 2020 and nominated for a Gouden Kalf in 2020. When Grey is a Colour (directed by Marit Weerheijm) won a Student Oscar, was selected at Camerimage, and won the two main jury prizes at TIFFKids. En Route (directed by Marit Weerheijm) premiered at Berlinale Generations and won a Gouden Kalf at the Netherlands Filmfestival in 2019. Eva and Loes gained experience in the film industry by working for established and internationally renowned producers. They were nominated for the annual graduate producers’ award by the FPN (Film Producers Netherlands). Loes was a participant of Berlinale Talents 2019, Rotterdam Lab at IFFR 2018 and was a Talent on Route at the HFM in 2018. Eva was selected for the Visitor’s program at Berlinale in 2019. Eva and Loes are guest lecturers at the Netherlands Filmacademy in Amsterdam and give masterclasses and workshops in producing films. Room for Film produces fiction films, documentaries, short films and podcasts. In 2023 Loes and Eva launched the label Room for Stories, where they create tailor-made stories and content for clients.
